The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), in collaboration with the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) will host an Off-grid Matchmaking event on the sidelines of the International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition (IOREC) on 29 September 2016.

The potential of renewable energy for the African continent cannot be overstated. In order to support Africa’s continuing economic growth and sustainable development, generation capacity on the continent will have to increase considerably by 2040. However, smart solutions and increased private investments are needed to achieve this goal. Against this background, the event will promote African markets and bring together the European and African renewable energy industry with financiers and other key market participants.

IOREC is the global platform for sharing experience and best practices on the design and implementation of enabling policies, tailored financing schemes, innovative business models and technology applications for stand-alone and mini-grid systems. IOREC’s third edition will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from September 30th to October 1st.
